I am currently working as an Artist in Residence with the Richmond, Ca based organization Artschange to create a traveling puppet show. It is our intention to respond to the childhood obesity epidemic by creating positive associations with heathly foods for children, and performing in underserved areas. The show will feature a new crew of trick puppets and combine whimsical stories with positive messaging about the benefits of healthly foods, movement, and peaceful community. Our ultimate plan is to travel the show to a variety of school, preschool, and health realated environments leaving behind a DVD of the puppet show along with materials and plans for creative activities for parents and teachers promoting healthy eating and peace-making.
